One problem with original IMAX B6 is that doesnt have a LiHV (Litium High Voltage) mode, otherwise it’ll be in lipo mode and won’t charge them fully but that’s the only drawback. The other important improvement is the small size considering that it incorporates with a built-in power supply while in the original IMAX B6 was external, also in its power of 80W allowing it to charge up to 8 Amps. The first thing that catches the attention of the SkyRC e680 is the similarity with its menus with those of the IMAX B6, so using it is something straightforward, without reading the manual. Typically, I “parallel-charge” 2 to 4 LiPo batteries at once using an external paralel charge board, I am glad I can still do the same with the SkyRC even with the more amps. I own the IMAX B6 for almost a decade now and it’s still rocking. However recently I tried the SkyRC e680 charger and I can say without a doubt that it is the best alternative today to the old IMAX B6. Although there have been better alternatives they were also more expensive. For many years the original IMAX B6 and its copies have been the gold standard in hobby battery chargers for RC and drone users.
